Andy Waltzer This CD is rich in wonderful songwriting; compelling melodies & captivating lyrics. The words are often funny, but ultimately the humor is a way to get to the deeper stuff. It's also a sort of songwriting where seemingly unimportant details take center stage, the scenes that might go unnoticed are the most moving (as it is with life). Also as it is with life, melancholy is mixed with a wide a eyed thirst to experience something good. A lovely album, highly recommended! Favorite track: Mark Rylance Was My Lodger.

Weird Town 04:24

about

Weird Town is Graham's first solo album since the 1985 release of 'Love At the Hacienda', and it has been well worth the 33 year wait. Recorded in his home studio in Lincolnshire (and mastered nearby at Dave Formula's Sweet Factory), Weird Town features inspired contributions from heavyweight folk musicians including Chris Wood and Niopha Keegan of the Unthanks. Fellows's bouncy acoustic guitar chops - ever present in this eclectic clutch of personal love songs - are held in check by the sophisticated percussion of Keith Angel, and the album is infused with mournful pad chords thumped out on a gasping harmonium.

Described by singer Kathryn Williams as "..beautiful tender songs of love & loss in his own voice."
